Walking for a Good Cause

NEDA Walk posterIf you’re in the New York City area next Sunday, plan to pull out your walking shoes and join the fun.  The National Eating Disorders Association [NEDA] is hosting its 2nd Annual New York City NEDA Walk at the Riverside Park Promenade.

Funds raised will go to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders and as well as to prevention, treatment and cures.

If you’re lucky, you might get to walk next to special guest NY Celebrity dog Eli the Chihuahua! NEDA also has other activities planned, such as yoga and mini-massages.

What: 2nd Annual New York City NEDA Walk Who: The National Eating Disorders Association Where: Riverside Park Promenade at West 83rd Street When: Sunday October 3, 2010 Time: Registration and Expo begins at 9am. The Walk will start at 11am and end at 1pm. Cost: $20 Adults, $10 Children 12 years and under & $5 for dogs Event Website: www.nationaleatingdisorders.org

I won’t be there in time for the walk but will be there the next Friday to attend NEDA’s annual meeting.  I’ll be speaking on a panel about binge eating disorder.  The panel was put together by the Binge Eating Disorder Association (BEDA).  If you plan to be at the meeting, stop by and say hi.  I’ll be working at the BEDA booth, too.
