I wish I had a good camera with me on the way to work this morning. As I drove over Red Bridge, I noticed three ducks dancing on the edge of the receding ice above the dam that separates Echo Lake from Lake Pauline. It was a lovely sight that underscored for me the beauty of not only each season in Vermont but of the days when the weather is less than what we think we want.
It’s raining today, quite hard. Yet our participants at Green Mountain are all suited up for a walk in what many of them before would never have ventured out into.
I’ve been reflecting lately on how gorgeous spring in Vermont is, yet this is something I’ve only come to realize after 25 years in this remarkably beautiful state. Not sure why it’s taken me this long but I’m sure glad I made it. Because to me, getting outdoors is what appeals when it comes to keeping a regular physical activity program in place. I’m just not a treadmill/elliptical/stationary bike kind of girl.
I’m definitely a physical activity kind of girl. Without it, I am not at my best. I don’t do it for healthy weight loss, although it helps. I do it to feel great. It also took me quite a while to get that. Sure glad I made it there, too.
Do you like walking in the rain? If not, what are your favorite rainy day physical activities?
