It Happened This Week: Good Nutrition=Good Hunger, A New Version of Us, Mindful Tweeting

Turkey for ThanksgivingThis little guy’s days are numbered!  —->

Margarita over at the blog Weightless posted a great interview with the authors of The Diet Survivor’s Handbook who suggest avoiding the abundant diet-mentality-centered advice you hear at this time of year. Judith Matz and Ellen Frankel suggest the best advice to follow during the holidays comes from your own internal cues regarding hunger. Hmmm, sound familiar?

But there is some seasonal food advice out there that can prove useful, such as The Huffington Post’s step by step guide (with pictures!) about how to carve a turkey.

Did you know that the way in which you feel hunger is dictated by what you normally eat? Marsha’s article for SelfNutritionData explains what a new study from Nutrition Journal is showing-research keeps telling us that it’s true, you are what you eat.

Green Mountain at Fox Run’s new website (and a new version of this blog) just launched, and we’re pretty excited about it!  We hope you like the new format too.

And it didn’t happen this week, but we are excited for November 24’s Twitter chat on mindful eating. The night before Thanksgiving, our friend and colleague Rebecca Scritchfield from The Me Movement will be joining our own Marsha Hudnall for a Tweet-fest about a topic which is helpful to be reminded of the night before what is traditionally a day for overeating. All are welcome; follow Marsha on Twitter to read her great insights and learn how to join the conversation.
