It Happened This Week: Counterclockwise, Positive Body Image in Children, Beauty Foods, and More Vitamin D

Ellen Langer, who wrote the ground-breaking book Mindfulness, as well as a new book, called Counterclockwise.  Langer’s research on mindfulness and the “psychology of possibility” led her to believe we can use the power of the mind to do things like improve our health and reverse the physical affects of aging.  The cranky, not-particularly-optimistic but always hilarious blogger Crabby digests the information Langer offers and contemplates the question: can you “think” your way to better health?

Green Mountain at Fox Run is a very specialized spa, if you want to call it a spa at all.  We call it a retreat because we’re not as much about pampering as about spending time doing some serious learning and reflection, of course in a peaceful environment where we have a lot of fun, too.  So if you’re looking for a more traditional spa, check out Spa Index where you can find out about day spas, stay spas and specialty spas (we’re listed there under women only spas) worldwide AND get coupons and learn about specials, too.  It’s your one-stop spa shop!  Say you saw Green Mountain there and you can get a free massage with your stay.
