and every one of us.”
This quote came to me by way of the internet. No author acknowledged, but as I read it this week in Mindful Journaling class at Green Mountain, our women’s healthy weight loss spa, I was struck with the Valentine message imbedded in it. Isn’t it our hope to find a modicum of peace within ourselves, no matter the amount of weight loss desired, or the number of Valentine cards we had hoped to receive, or the wish that somehow we should be different than we are?
Perhaps this year your Valentine wishes can be directed at YOU. Noticing the parts of you that you are at peace with and look for small activities that might allow you to relax into yourself. Possible activities might include a gratitude list, repeating your affirmations with gusto, challenging with thought stopping the critical voices that can get you down.
Letting go of disappointment and focusing on a teeney tiny shift or a great-big-giant step towards self-acceptance is the gift you have to give yourself today.
