Our healthy weight loss program is based on a four-week curriculum
that can be taken one week at a time. The workshops offered
each week of your stay are different and build on the previous
weeks' information and discussions. In order to practice the
skills you learn, a stay of two or more weeks is highly recommended.
Three- & Four-Week Programs:
"Building a Bridge from Your Past to Your Future"

will stay with you for a lifetime.
More time to practice and plan your transition back
home. Three and four week stays offer the greatest
opportunity to truly incorporate the Green Mountain approach
into your life. Long-term participants are better able to
achieve lasting weight loss and improved body image.
Our most comprehensive Green Mountain program,
featuring the full set of core workshops in nutrition, fitness/exercise
physiology, emotional eating, binge eating and body image.
You'll also enjoy more time to relax and see Vermont while
forging new relationships with fellow participants to develop
a support network for the future.
Our four-week program has been evaluated for its
long-term results. A published study showed a five-year
success rate more than 20 times that of other commercial or
hospital-based programs. With more education, practice and
repetition of new behaviors, your probability for long-term
success is that much greater.
Two-Week Program:
"The Building Blocks of Success"
Our most popular program for busy women who
want to develop new skills and practice them before returning
home.
Specifically designed for the busy woman with limited
time and big goals for long-term success, our two-week
program is often a more realistic time commitment for most
women.
Our in-depth eating and behavioral workshops help
you improve your ability to handle difficult situations
(such as managing food cravings and eating in restaurants)
and to cope with issues that may trigger overeating. Building
on your accomplishments during the first week, you'll begin
to develop the confidence that only practice allows you to
achieve.
Free yourself from the frustration and fear that
dieting has imposed on you. By 'testing the waters"
and eating one night at one of the many restaurants in the
area (if you choose to do so), you'll begin to understand
how our "eating to lose weight" approach can free
you and help you succeed at home.
Introductory One-Week Program: "Getting
Started"
Many participants have been able to successfully
achieve their goals after just one week at Green Mountain.
This intensive one-week experience introduces
you to the fundamentals of the Green Mountain approach. You'll
learn critical skills and strategies needed for successful
health management and how to change the attitudes and behaviors
that lead to overeating.
We help you create a "take-home" exercise
routine. You'll get started with a fitness program
that is safe, comfortable and geared to your ability and suited
to your schedule at home.
Jump start your commitment to a healthy weight and
lifestyle or get back on track. Many women elect
to come for the one-week program because of time restraints,
then return to continue with the second, third and fourth
week programs at later dates. If you're already in shape or
becoming fit, one week is also a great opportunity to fine-tune
your physical activities to maximize benefits and tailor them
to your personal lifestyle.
