A Typical Spa Day

Losing weight for the last time is about much more than calories, fat grams or carbs. Green Mountain’s schedule of diet and fitness workshops/activities and healthy eating experiences reflects a guided journey, based on our 35 years experience, of what works in the real world. You get the practice, experience and education that gives you what you need to be successful when you go home, in an environment that is women-only, supportive and fun!

Below is a quick overview of what a typical day at Green Mountain is like. With over 60 strategy- and skill-building workshops that focus on fitness, metabolism, nutrition, behavior, stress management and more, you can be busy from morning ‘til night if you choose.

7:00 am     Get Fit - and Lose Weight - Through Walking

Jumpstart your metabolism with an optional pre-breakfast walk on a nearby trail or on the landscaped walking track just outside our front door overlooking the Green Mountains of Vermont.

7:45 am     Healthy Eating: A "Want To," Not a "Have To"

Choose from an array of items on our breakfast table including hot and cold cereals, fresh melon, bagels or homemade muffins - and enjoy a view of the Green Mountains from your table.

8:45 am     Experience How Great Healthy Eating and Fitness Feels

After an energizing breakfast, get on the right track with a fitness walk in the great outdoors - back on our walking track or Vermonting (hiking in summer, snowshoeing in winter), to leave you infused with fresh mountain air and a positive attitude.

10:00 am     Learn How to Fit Healthy Eating and Fitness into Your Life

Workshops on Mindful Eating, Dieting vs. Normal Eating, Redefining Healthy Eating, Finding Your Fitness Soul, Overcoming Exercise Obstacles; or more fitness activities - Upper/Lower Body Weight Training, Tennis (in summer) or Cross-Country Skiing (in winter) - give you insight into diet and fitness strategies that really work.

Saturday mornings offer 3 hours of fitness activities. Saturday afternoons and Sunday are great times to go sightseeing, shopping, antiquing, to visit Dartmouth College, to see a film at a local movie theater, or perhaps go outlet shopping in nearby Manchester, VT.
