I wanted to effect a transformation in my life – and
that's just what Green Mountain did for me. I have
to report that the end result of my 4-week stay at Green
Mountain is sort of a miracle.
I arrived pudgy, with a poor self-image and a rattled central
nervous system. When I departed, I had lost not only pounds
but those all-important inches, just where I wanted to lose
them. I now look darn good, period. I am stronger, healthier,
happier and relaxed. In part I owe that last result to the
clean Green Mountain air, gorgeous scenery and the hilarious
camaraderie of my fellow participants.
As for the staff, Chef Jon gets a 10 out of a possible 10,
as the food was consistently wonderful. Mimi and Teri each
get a 10 for being so supportive emotionally as we learned
our new approach to optimum health. Robyn gets a 10 for teaching
us about sound nutrition, the plate model, and for working
with Chef Jon to insure that the "food" part of
our Green Mountain experience was so very yummy, perfectly
balanced AND LO-CAL, not an easy endeavor. Dr. Alan Wayler
gets a 10 for his classes on metabolic rate that gave every
participant the "Aha!" moment, which is a keystone
to creating the body/mind change that we all had hoped to
achieve.
As for our fitness director, LynnAnn Covell – okay,
I have to break the rules here and give LynnAnn an 11 out
of 10, since she is beyond excellent. How in heaven's
name did you, LynnAnn, change my body shape from lousy to
looking good in just 4 weeks? Of course, the reason it happened
is that we flock to your daily classes since you're
not only entertaining as we crunch away our flabby mid-sections,
you also exercise so hard yourself that you inspire us to
continue on in our rigorous workouts. Actually, you have
the comic's touch in everything you do, even during
your classroom seminars, which is so delightful, as you soften
our hearts and strengthen our resolve, at once.
To sum up, all my expectations were exceeded at Green Mountain.
Simply put, the program works. And that's because the
faculty and staff work hard and smart to make it so.
