Since the introduction of gastric bypass, lapbanding and gastric sleeve surgeries, we at Green Mountain have worked with many women both before and after surgery to help them successfully manage their unique nutrition, dietary and behavioral needs. Often this includes individual menu modifications as well as re-education about nutrition, food and cooking considerations due to the changes that result from the surgery.
Behaviorally, changes that are important to successful results surround mindful eating, emotional eating, body image, and self-esteem. As is the case with other special populations we work with, we recognize that each woman is different.
