Did lululemon founder Chip Wilson make lemonade out of lemons?
You may have heard the buzz in today’s news about comments Wilson made when asked about the company’s troubled yoga pants which were ditched earlier this year because of poor quality.
“Frankly, some women’s bodies just don’t actually work [for the yoga pants],” Chip Wilson said on Bloomberg TV. “It’s more really about the rubbing through the thighs, how much pressure is there over a period of time, how much they use it.”
We’ve already posted our thoughts about Abercrombie & Fitch CEO, Mike Jeffries, on controversial comments he made earlier this year. However, Jeffries owned his claims that there was definite intent to make clothes meant only for the young, slim and cool.
Was Wilson baited to make some statements that were taken out of context or was he just side-stepping and used women’s thighs as the reason their recent yoga pants didn’t make the grade? He issued an apology for his comments, though that video has people talking as well.
You be the judge. Tell us what you think?
