There are thousands of books, websites and TV shows on how to eat healthier. We are constantly barraged with complicated schemes and conflicting information about the best ways to lose weight, from counting calories and monitoring our sugar intake to eliminating food groups and calculating points. We can’t even check out at the grocery store without reading about 10 new different weight loss solutions on the covers of magazines.

Stop the madness!

At Green Mountain, we like to keep things simple by using a “Plate Model” as our guide to healthy eating. In today’s Foodie Friday video, Green Mountain dietitian Robyn Priebe illustrates the plate model and explains why it’s super easy to remember and implement for meal planning. The plate model helps you to feel satiated, so that you are less likely to feel restricted, which can lead to overeating later.

Take a look and let us know if you follow the plate model. If you do, how has it helped you with your meal planning and weight management?
