Friday is finally here, but chances are good that the cumulative stress from the work week has settled into your neck and shoulders. If you feel tight from sitting in the car and hunching over your keyboard, we have a few stretches you can do to relieve that tension quickly. Yes, getting a massage or making plans for happy hour can be helpful, too, but these movements are the best things you can do to loosen up that area right now and experience immediate relief.

    I used to have this problem from working long hours in front of a computer. The best thing you can do is work on your seated posture. Imagine a fish hook pulling your chest upward to get rid of the hunchback. Then pull your chin down and the crown of your head up and back so everything lines up properly. It’s awkward at first, but when you get used to it, it’s a lifesaver for your neck.

  • I don’t know why, but doing a triceps stretch has been helping my neck/shoulder issues a lot!
