I enjoy holiday shopping...although doing it the weekend before Christmas does add a bit of unwanted pressure to the mix!
I’m going to practice what I preach today and put myself first. I’ve got too many meetings going on — and my daughter is home for the first time in a year. So I’m not going to spend time putting together our usual Friday review of notable reads on the web.
Instead, I’ll just encourage everyone else who is caught up in the busyness of this time of year to remember to make time for yourself where it really counts, or even just where you can. When we put ourselves first, everyone is better for it.
If you’re having a bit of trouble doing that, check out our FitBriefing on Mindfulness during the Holidays. It focuses on mindful eating as well as the need to put ourselves first during this time of year.
Happy last weekend before Christmas!
Do you have all your shopping done? I don’t! Eek!!

I have finished my present shopping. Still need to venture out for the groceries to prepare the Christmas dinner, though! Eeeek!
Putting myself first in certain areas will be a priority for the new year. Yes, I do resolutions, kind of…more like doing a re-assessment and determining what areas I need to focus on differently or better in the new year. I like the idea of a new start, a new page on the calendar. And yes, the Christmas shopping is done except for a few more food items for the menu on Christmas day (including all the fresh veggies for a big veggie tray!).
