Ahhh, summer! Time to kick back on a nice vacation, relax and unwind.  But what about keeping on track with fitness goals?

I’m looking forward to going on a trip for a week or so at the end of June and – like many of you – have been trying to fit regular exercise into my healthy lifestyle. I go to the gym, bike or walk, and try to take in a fitness class. It’s important to me that I enjoy some physical activity while I’m away, but do I really want to be a slave to a hotel gym?

Sometimes, tweaking our perspective about exercise can not only help us stay fit and healthy on vacation, but may help us better enjoy our healthy lifestyle routines year round.

Before you take off for a bit of summer fun and stress about whether you can leave your exercise routine at home, read this month’s FitBriefing from Green Mountain, “Staying Fit While Having Fun This Summer.”  Learn how you can stay fit while taking a break from exercise routines, and how that can mean a whole lot more fun, too!

When we’re on vacation it’s nice to stay fit just by seeing the sights and all- walking places and participating in fun activities unique to that destination! Sure beats the gym.

I second that, Sagan! I am usually so active on vacation whether I’m on the beach or touring some place I’ve never been. Vacation is about a break from the routine. It leaves me so refreshed when I come back to the routine if I’ve really been doing different things.
